Britain's longest passenger cable car
Llandudno Cable Car
At 1.6 kilometres point-to-point, the Llandudno Cable Car is the longest of its kind in the UK — a 1969-built aerial gondola that swings up from the Happy Valley base station (sea level, just behind the pier) to the Great Orme summit in around ten unhurried minutes. You board at the bottom and ride up: the four-seat cabins are open-windowed and slow, which is the point — you drift over the headland with North Wales unfolding underneath, the bay to one side and Snowdonia in the distance to the other. It pairs beautifully with the Tramway for an "up one way, down the other" loop if you've a couple of hours.
Easter – late October · £14 return adult · cash only on the day · doesn't run if it's windy · board at Happy Valley (behind the pier, sea level)
